Road trip to Land of 10,000 Lakes AKA Minnesota

The last time we've visited Mall of America was back in 2003 it has been over 13 years and we can't remember much of what was there except for what was Camp Snoopy is now Nickelodeon Universe. I must say, I'm glad to see something different and now Camp Snoopy is just a distant memory.

Today we see Nickelodeon theme featuring characters like SpongeBob SquarePants, iCarly, and Dora the Explorer.  Although these characters are for all kids ages 2 to 11 anyone can be a kid again when they ride these rides.  I like the fact that Nickelodeon can now update their ride and characters constantly whereas the Camp Snoopy and the Peanuts characters weren't able to do that with it's four main characters Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, and Snoopy.

Needless to say, we enjoyed spending the whole day just at the MOA Nickelodeon Universe with the kids.  They had fun riding rides and pick and choose which rides they like best and ride it over and over until they are tired.

Throughout our stay, we visit the mall every day to visit their endless list of the restaurant for dinner.  During our daily visit, we tackle each floor of the mall at a time.  Then, in the end, we had saved one day to return to the mall and visit the store we had missed or want to go back.

Most of the stores you see at the MOA are somewhat typical of what you see at any ordinary mall elsewhere.  There were a couple of touristy stores or souvenir shops and instead of having one huge store for GameStop they would have two ordinary size stores in the mall.

We took a break from walking in the mall and got the best experience ever at the theater.  We opt to go with D-box seating and watch The Legend of Tarzan. The D-box seating is electronically synchronized to the action you are watching on screen and it moves and vibrates making you feel like you can jump off your seat from being scared or glide along with the camera views.  Pretty impressive, the closest one to us is Columbia Missouri never thought it would be in such a small market.  But anyway we just had to try it out and at least do it once to experience it and also help rest our feet.

The Minnesota Zoo is the best zoo out there.  We took a nice walk around and see the amazing diversity of animals.  There are many areas to visit once inside the zoo.  There are a topical area, aquarium, Minnesota animals, farm section, Russia's Grizzly Coast bear, sea otters and much more.  To see all these animals you just have to follow the paved trails.  You'll encounter large exhibits and see animals from smallest to biggest, from crawling to flying.  It's an amazing and good quality zoo.

We can remember back in 2003, the last time we visited the zoo.  There used to be dolphins and the monorail.  What we see today in place of the dolphins' exhibits is the seals gone are the dolphins.  We also see that the remanent of the rusted monorail tracks around the zoo's trails. It was closed due to a high cost of operation as they age.  We have gotten a 50% discount going to the Minnesota zoo because we are part of the Friend Of The Zoo membership program.  It has paid for itself much time than not.  Overall a great zoo, very spacious with animals from all over the world.

Another place we visited was the Minnehaha waterfall.  It is located in Minneapolis and the falls is in Minnehaha Park, on the shores of the Mississippi River.  It is a 60-foot high fall that we really enjoyed looking at.  We went on a trail down the stairs to the bottom of the creek and crossed the bridge to find a spot for taking pictures. This is a definitely must do, it looks like to be a great place to hike and take in nature.

Last but not least, a trip to Minneapolis isn't complete without a trip to the Science Museum of Minnesota in Saint Paul.  It is one of the most popular museums in the upper Midwest.  There were dinosaurs, hands-on exhibits, and the Omnitheater. The museum focused on topics in technology, natural history, physical science, and mathematics education.  We spent a quiet Sunday where it is less crowded and street parking isn't being enforced.

Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres
Isla Mujeres
We visited Isla Mujeres (translated into Women Island). Isla Mujeres was named by Spanish conquerors when they discovered the island and its many clay figurines of females’ centuries ago.  It has never crossed our mind to visit the island until we arrived at Cancun and our taxi driver who had picked us up from the airport suggested that we must visit the Island and that we are staying right across from the Island.  After hearing all the great things our taxi driver had to say about the Island we decided to take a day trip and put it on our itinerary.

The day of our trip to the island we decided to take a freight ferry at Punta Sam ferry terminal five minutes walks from our hotel to the port.  It is a slower ferry that will take about 45 minutes to get to the Island.  There are other ferry terminals that are about 13 miles from the hotel.  The boat ride takes you across for around 20 minutes from Puerto Juarez in Cancun to the main dock on the island.  But we’ve decided to just stay with the freight ferry since we’re in no such hurry.

On the ferry, we get a chance to hang out on the side of the ferry and enjoyed the ocean view as the boat slowly skipped across the sea.  This island is an idyllic spot in the Caribbean, the weather is wonderful and the view is stunning.  As a matter of fact, the background image of my blog is a photo I have taken while on the ferry.  The moment the ferry comes into dock, and as soon as we got off the boat we encounter a wild iguana and was unexpected, as wild iguana seems to be scattered all over the island.  As we walked down the main street we were greeted with warmth from the locals.

We have already planned to rent a golf cart so we can explore the attractions this five-mile-long island has to offer.  Other people choose either to walk around or rent a bicycle. Since this was our first time to the island we want to explore it with the golf cart and we were so glad we did.  It was the best decision we had made to explore the life of the island, which seems to remain peaceful and slow-paced.

Taking the golf cart south of downtown we certainly see bountiful nature surrounding the island.  Here lies the Garrafon National Park amidst the archaeological ruin of the Temple of the Goddess Ixchel.  There was stunning ocean scenery full of coral reefs that teeming with friendly marine life ideal for snorkeling.  At the very tip of the south end of the island, there are perfect panoramic cliff views of the turquoise crystal clear ocean.

There are several hotels, shops, restaurants, and bars operating on the island. Did I also mention the gorgeous beaches? Isla Mujeres best beaches are on the northernmost tip of the island near the downtown area.  The warm pristine sea is very calm great to soak in the sun and even snorkel. There are so many things to do on the island. If we have an opportunity to spend more time there we would consider Turtle Protection Center, where they help preserve endangered species and visit the Dolphin discovery. Obviously, there are plenty to see and do on the island.

Once we explored the island it really was one thing left to do and that was to catch the boat back to our hotel.  We literally spent the whole day on the golf cart with a pit stop here and there and it took us to the late afternoon and we decided we’ve done all we can on the golf cart and we must return the next day and enjoy the pristine beaches on the northern part of the island near downtown.  The next day we did exactly just that.  It was the most memorable moment of our vacation experience.  We will be back!

Enjoy a short video of us on the northern tip of Isla Mujeres doing a little bit of snorkeling.

Home remedy to get rid of gout for good.

Home remedies to heal gout. Gout is something that's plaguing more and ore people every day, and it's caused by uric acid buildup in the body.  Acute gout is a painful condition that often affects only one joint.

Let’s go over some home remedies, but let's discuss the diet that is crucial to get rid of gout and the worst food offenders. So if you have gout, the first thing you have to do is eliminating the excess sugar and grains in your diet, and then processed meat. So again, excess sugar, grains, and processed meat products are some of the biggest foods you need to get out of your diet.

Sugar feeds yeast in the body, the conventional grains turn into sugar, and then those meats, the problem there is, they're full of hormones and antibiotics and they're so acidic to your system. Then in terms of beverages, staying away from alcohol. So again, those are the best things you can do right now to eliminate gout symptoms. In terms of a gout diet stay away from those foods that have a diet very high in vegetables and fruits, and then organic meats.

Here's what I can tell you, if you follow these tips, you can get rid of gout in hours or less. Some of the best foods include things like bone broth and chicken vegetable soup. That's a good gout diet. Now here are some home remedies to get rid of gout for good.

First suggested home remedy is celery seed extract and celery juice. Celery seed extract actually has been shown to decrease uric acid buildup in the body. So again, you can buy the supplement, celery seed extract, or get a vegetable juicer out, juice celery juice. Or just eat celery throughout the day great for getting rid of gout.

A second home remedy for gout is black cherry juice or cherry juice extract. Cherry juice, very similar benefits, it reduces inflammation; it reduces uric acid buildup in the body. If you just did celery and black cherry juice alone, you will see very fast results in getting rid of gout.

The third thing you can do is nettles. You can actually buy nettles tea, and nettle is a powerful anti-inflammatory phytonutrient. You can buy that as a supplement or drink it as a tea, it's great for getting rid of gout.

A fourth home remedy to get rid of gout for good is going to be fish oil. Now fish oil doesn't act as fast as the first two, but over time, fish oil is packed with omega- fatty acids that reduce inflammation in your body, decreasing your risk of gout.

And last but not least here in terms of supplements, is going to be proteolytic enzymes like bromelain. Now bromelain is found in the core of a pineapple, it's an enzyme that's been shown to help reduce uric acid and inflammation. One other remedy I've seen that's been very beneficial is magnesium. Magnesium supplementation, it's an alkaline mineral. That alkaline mineral can also decrease uric acid formation in the body.

If you get rid of the things mentioned above, the excess alcohol, the sugar, the grains, the conventional meats, if you add in a diet higher in fruits and vegetables and if you use those home remedies, the celery seed extract, the black cherry juice, the nettles, the fish oil, the bromelain and magnesium, and if you just have to pick two, celery seed extract and black cherry juice, you will see your gout gone in hours or less.

How to get rid of termites

Termites may be small but the damage they cause is definitely not. The worst thing about termites is that they are not only very dangerous but also act silently. This means that termites might be living and thriving in your home while you remain totally clueless. By the time you notice signs of damage it might be too late and your property might have already suffered a huge blow in thanks to these pesky little fellows.

The reason why termites always find a way into houses is because all houses provide the kind of food termites’ drive on. Cellulose based plant material regardless if the construction type at the house termites will always find a way to get to the cellulose food. There are both natural and chemical ways to get rid of termites. If you up to the natural route you need to get your hands on beneficial nematodes it's not a rocket science as it sounds beneficial nematodes. It's actually a segmented worms that are used to kill garden pests such as termites they do this by burrowing into hosts in this case termite lovey and in doing so they cause the death their hosts. You can easily purchase these helpful felons from your local garden supply store or online. Currently verified varieties that you can choose from remember to use it immediately after purchase, if not store them in your refrigerator since UV light comes these worms be sure to place them in the garden after sunset or before sunrise.

Using a cardboard trap is another way to get rid of termites naturally cardboard contains a cellular switches earlier mentioned is what termites feed on. In order to set the trap for the termites you need to spray the cardboard. The smell of the cellulose becomes more distinct you should then place the cardboard Trapani return might infest area the termites will be attracted to the cardboard giving you the chance to catch them and burn them off. Exposing termites to sunlight and the heat associated with it kills them if termites have infested your furniture. Find a way of getting it out at the house. The rays from the Sun will handle your termite problem for you.

Another natural way of eliminating termites from your home is by ensuring that they do not get the opportunity to thrive. Simply put you need to ensure that you embark on prevention. Get rid of damp with around your home and clear any bushes as this exposes the termites to sunlight. Which is earlier mentioned kills them. Water leaks in your house should also be taken care of, as this will eventually attract termites. Alternatively, you can get rid of termites using boric acid in fact boric acid is the main ingredient found in many termite insecticides that you buy from the store. Boric acid kills termites by shutting down their nervous systems and dehydrating them if you want this method to work best make use a bait stations. For this you need to spray wood with boric acid and then place it strategically in different parts where you think termites might be. Be sure to check these bait stations regularly and replenish the boric acid as required. Orange oil can also be used to eliminate dry wood termites. Orange oil is an extract that has gotten from orange peels it is insoluble in water in order for it to work you should drill holes into the infested wood and pool in the orange oil through the holes. Be cautious when using or enjoying, as some people are allergic to it. Orange oil kills the termites through direct contact or by starving them to death.

Fumigation is another effective way of killing termites when termites are subjected to temperatures above Fahrenheit. For minutes or more they'll die you might want to do these with the help of a professional. Be sure to remove all your gadget, television sets and computers from the house before you use this method.

I'm not afraid of public speaking, I just can't spit out the words to convey my point across and it's frustrating!

The fear of public speaking actually arises from two primary sources your personality and uncertainties. Let's start by looking at personality, the truth is that some people are more comfortable in social situations where other people are less comfortable in those situations. There's really little that we can change when it comes to our genetic predispositions what we can change relates to that second aspect that second component of why a lot of people fear of public speaking and that's uncertainty.  There are lots of things that people are uncertain about people may be uncertain about how their ideas will be perceived.  He'll be judged for the impression that the making an audience a key is not to spend so much time worrying about that uncertainty but rather focus on the opportunities they have to stand in front of an audience and speak about something they care about.
Public Speaking or Making presentation

Let's talk about some sets of strategies that people can use to overcome that fear. The first category is called visualization the idea of seeing ourselves being successful. The idea of seeing the sequence of steps that we're going to take from the moment we entered the room to the moment we got that applause at the end  can actually help us be more successful.

The second set of strategies that I wanna talk about relate to anti nervousness techniques or relaxation techniques. There are all sorts of ways to relax before giving a presentation.  One of the most common set of exercises focuses on breathing exercises.  The first relaxation technique that I want to talk about is the T repeater.  The T repeater help you relax before their presentations the way it works is to turned your palms up take a deep breath in and then exhale the T sound doing so creates a sense of relaxation.  That often helps a lot of people focus on their message right before they get out in front of the audience. The next set of relaxation techniques that often work well involve eye contact.  One in particular is called easing into eye contact. One of the reasons a lot of people are nervous because they feel like people are judging them that people are staring at them when they stand out in front of the audience. So what you can do rather than look directly into the eyes of the people you're talking to is easy and eye contact try actually looking at a person's forehead or if they're wearing glasses at the rims of their glasses. Doing so creates the impression that you're looking at them without actually looking at them.

The third category related to overcoming one fear of public speaking connects to practice now we all know the maxim that practice makes perfect, but what's most important is that we're practicing in specific ways what we want to do is actually speak as much of our presentation as we can.  We actually want to speak in front of a mirror or a webcam that way we could see yourself succeeding, moreover we can also be attentive to what we do well and what we can improve. What are the most important parts the presentation to practice is the introduction and conclusion.  The audience will be drawn in by the introduction and hopefully will be left with something to think about when it comes time for the conclusion.  There is a real joy stepping out in front of an audience are real excitement that comes from sharing one's passion with a group of people so we can't let the fear of public speaking paralyze us and inhibit our abilities to get to the next step to get to the type of positions that we want and that we're ready for.
